You'd only see a midi track and the output would go to a bus. So if you didn't need extra fiddling done to a midi track and it's apropriate soft synth you could just rout it's output to the master bus and be done with it. On a midi track, I'd like to see SONAR give you the option of routing the softsynth output to either a track or directly to a bus. What I'd like to see is SONAR take this one step further. Other than the clutter of multiple tracks, I don't see the benefit for me.

I am not a hundred percent sure but I got a feeling that after a softsynth was opened for a midi track, it could be called up like a patch change. That could be useful sometimes as you are audition sounds for a midi track. Also after opening a soft synth on a midi track you get to choose from a list of open soft synths on that track. I realize a separate track has a benefit in some cases. This is similar to the midi implementation of P5V2. If there was a way to change the synth that was doing the preview I surely couldn't find it even after a search of the help files.Īnother thing is that Acid 6 doesn't require a separate track for a soft synth. This doesn't give you a feel for what things are going to sound like exactly but at least you know what notes are being played. One, of course, is the midi groove clip preview in the Explorer view. There are two Acid 6 features that SONAR could use in my opinion. And as in SONAR, track lables are sacrificed to widget space if more clip real estate is needed. There seems to be a lot of wasted space in the ACID 6 UI.

It's not very intuitive and there's nothing there to make me want to dig into a manual to find simple features that would fall into your lap in a SONAR installation. Can't find a single reason to buy it over SONAR. This sort of ticked me off a bit, but I learned to live with it. net framework before installing Acid 6, it's a must.

#Sony acid pro 6 demo how to#
I have a lot more to learn about how to use Acid, and I haven't had the chance to dig into as I would like to have, but I will sit down in the up comming weeks and perform some real tracking and mixing with it hen I finish the projects I am working on. Always, but peeking around the corner doesn't hurt at all. This blows my mind.(Nice job on the t Sony).

The one feature I adore is the ability to copy a grove from a track and apply the same grove to a track that doesn't have the groove feel you want. A small window showing the mixer, another showing the explore view, a media manager view. This isn't really needed as Acide has everything in plain sight. I have a dual monitor view, so I can take the mixer out of the main sections and move it to the second monitor. I do like using Acid however, Bussing is easy, and the Program is fast, with little to no hesitiation while using it. This is a steep learning curve for me because of being with Cakewalk for a since Muxic Creator 2002 and then onto Sonar 2.0 and all Sonar version since then. I purchased Acid 6 about a Month ago and I must say that I like the way it handles Audio and Midi, but the Midi capabilities are no where near Sonar as stated by others.
